Cleaning of the room was perfect and at the hour you preferred. The bad thing was when I arrived. "Good location" We stayed four nights at Catalonia Ramblas. The hotel is OK, (but not very exciting) and the location is very good. Easy walking distance to the Ramblas and to shops and lots of restaurants. Only a few of the staff speaks English, but all were very friendly and we got fast help when our aircondition didn´t work. We only had breakfast at the hotel once. The breakfastroom is very noisy and you have to stand in line for a long time if it is rush hour. The quality of the breakfast was good, but you can easy get breakfast out, just go around the block there are several places.

"Would stay there again!" Just got back from an 8-day stay in Barcelona at the Catalonia Ramblas . Overall, a good experience. The rooms were spotlessly clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast is fantastic--try to get a package which includes breakfast. Excellent location--just off La Ramblas, within a 2 minute walk of Metro Station. Although the area around the hotel is always EXTREMELY busy, the hotel itself was quiet, and we had no problems getting a good night's sleep. The bed was HUGE and comfortable. A few downsides--there is very little storage space for clothing, etc. as there is no dresser. The closet area is a bit small, and the hotel's hangers were huge and thick, so it was a bit difficult for 2 people to hang a week's worth of clothing. Tip-if you have a lot to hang, maybe bring a few of your own plastic hangers. Next time, I would. Ordered room service one night-hamburger and sandwich--and it was adequate--not great, but adequate. Delivered promptly, too. Had no problems with the bill on checkout--everything was clearly itemized and correct. We sent laundry and dry cleaning, and were STUNNED at how quickly the laundry was brought back. We dropped it off at reception at 8:30, and it was done perfectly and returned to our room by 11:00. However, on two occasions, I had put out the Do Not Disturb sign, and the laundry delivery staff knocked anyway. Weekend breakfast was quite busy. We were there for a business convention, and we will most likely stay in the Catalonia Ramblas during next year's convention.

"Peaceful haven in a very noisy city" We were initially staying at a different hotel just up the road from the Catalonia Ramblas but had to move due to the noise from the road and poor soundproofing. This is a problem in many of the city's hotels whatever the star rating. We were actually going to book the Catalonia Ramblas at a very good B&B rate before our stay but unfortunately the mixed reviews put us off. At the Catalonia Ramblas we had a ground floor room and could not hear any traffic noise or internal noise from adjoining rooms which was a huge relief. The rooms and hotel were clean, sleek, modern and had excellent soundproofing. Despite some poor reviews on trip advisor we found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating (we were travelling with a baby but this did not pose a problem). We did not try the breakfast as it is quite expensive at 15 euros unless you book for B&B and also the Spa is not yet operational but that did not pose a problem for us on this occasion. This is a fantastic hotel in a great city and we will definitely be returning.

"Loved the Catalonia Ramblas" Fantastic stay at Catalonia Ramblas 20-22 March 2007. I requested a free upgrade for my husbands birthday and we were given an amazing room. We had absolutely no complaints, room was immaculate and furnishings were in A1 condition. Tea and coffee tray provided etc. Our bedroom was 6m sq, with separate dressing area and a huge bathroom complete with double shower. We didn't eat in the hotel at all and we didn't check out the leisure/spa facility. Great location right at the top of the Ramblas, 2 minutes walk to the beautiful Place Catalonia. Though in a busy area of the city we heard no noise from our 2nd floor room which had 2 double glazed doors onto a balcony. We loved the hotel and would not hesitate to return there. We booked with lateroomsdotcom and got a superb deal.
