carpet envy The first night i was given a smoking room, even though i had requested non smoking. the rooms were dingy and musty. the location is good. i was double billed. never again... 1.8

no thanks barcelo sants I stayed in room 631 and it looked like a room from the early seventies and also not renovated since the seventies. Carpet was smelly not clean, paint coming of the walls, tobacco smell in the room & windows cannot be opened, cigarette put out on top of the television, closet floor was damaged, ....TERRIBLE this is NOT a four star class hotel! 2.0

"room was ok, but very very stuffy" Barcelo Sants Hotel's room was ok, but very very stuffy, so I can't imagine what it must be like in the summer. Also, there are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Overall, the staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel is standard, nothing special. Korbin, Kilkenny

"Very handy for train travellers!" If you travel in or out of Barcelona by train, no hotel is more handy! It is situated directly above the train station and entry to the hotel is via a lift (elevator) situated inside the station, (on north side of station ground level), but it's not as easy to find as it could be. The rooms have ADSL. Whilst they claim the rooms are "soundproof", they are not; however, they are quiet. Lots of road works going on (6/07), but tour buses stop across the street and it's easy to get to main part of town if you have a map. Beds are not as cofortable as they could be. We "fixed" that by putting blankets under the sheet and then we were fine. Bathroom is large and bright enough to do makeup. Did not try inhouse restaurant, but lots of others did. They also have a car park in case you need it.

"excellent location. Professional Hotel" The lift goes from the central train station to the hotel lobby. Price was very good (but the hotel is a 10min direct metro to the ramblas). The rooms were great (but breakfast is pricey), but if u fancy being a small bit "extravagant", you should upgrade to a Junior Suite ...it comes with breakfast included..so works out quite good. Breakfast has everything...hot/cold and cake!! Id recommend the hotel for those of you who are going to use the metro/train to get around!!

"Great value and nice stay" We stayed at Barcelo Hotel Sants because of the semi-positive feedback and tripadvisor ranking and because it is right on top of Sants Estacion in Barcelona. We didn't want to have to pay a taxi to get from the airport to the hotel and then back, and the train was not a hassle, and even a tremendous convenience for us. Saved us a good bit of change. I was wary of how nice, clean, and modern the hotel room would be and about the service we would receive based on other reviews, and all my expectations were completely exceeded. The room though styled not to my taste was very clean, semi-modern and very spacious compared to our other lodging on this trip to Europe. The bathroom had a bidet (yes!), and the tub actually drained very quickly while showering and didn't pool any water. The desk staff was absolutely incredibly helpful. I speak Castellano (castillian) and even though the language spoken in Barcelona is Catalan, the desk staff was very eager to help me in Castellano and even in very crisp and clear English when the situation warranted. I wish I could remember the name of the woman who helped us, but she was phenomenal in showing us on the map where almost every single attraction in the city is that we would want to see, and then showed us where good places to eat were nearby each site, and then showed us how to get to where we wanted to go on the Metro. We bought a T10 metro ticket which gives you up to 10 entries into the metro system and can be used by multiple people, and for the 3 days we spent in Barcelona it was perfect. My only complaints about this hotel were that the bed was pretty stiff and the first day when my wife and I slept in, we woke up with pretty sore backs, and that the Wifi internet access is pretty expensive. At least they offer it though and it works great!
